Born in 1976, Peyton Manning is the NFL quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts. His football career began in the early 1990s in New Orleans as the quarterback for his Isidore Newman High School team with 34 wins and only 5 losses in three years.
Peyton continued his football career in 1995 with the University of Tennessee Volunteers. As a freshman in such team, he was positioned as the third – quarterback. During one particular game, the other quarterbacks were injured and this forced Manning to take the lead quarterback position and lead the Vols to a win. Since then, he played as the starting quarterback.
His talents continued to grow as he took the Volunteers in the 1996 Citrus Bowl and defeated the Northwestern. Manning ended his college football career with numerous awards and record – breaking achievements in 1997; the very same year that the Vols joined the SEC Championship. Peyton’s #16 UT jersey retired in 2005.
After a strong college finish, Manning was the number one draft pick in 1998. Peyton Manning’s career in the NFL took off setting five different rookie records. In 2003, Manning gained his first MVP award followed by his second MVP in 2004.
The Colts, led by Manning, himself, won over the Chicago Bears during the 2006 Super Bowl and was crowned as the MVP. By 2008, he was named MVP and was again given the award in 2009 as he lead the Indiana Colts against the New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl.
Peyton Manning had his career put on hold after having a neck surgery which left him out of the 2011 NFL season. During that year, the Colts finished with only 2 wins; truly an unbelievable news as the Colts never win at least 10 games.
